Meet Mariana

Happy childhoods are my thing!

I've spent the last 5 years caring for children across Texas, New York, Mexico, and China, and with each experience, I've gotten new perspectives on parenting, organization, patience, and adapting to new environments. I want to be an au pair in the US one last time, learn more, and discover new interests.

I believe the best childhood memories are made in simple or surprising moments.

Here’re my childcare experiences ✨

2015 - 2020

First childcare experiences

Babysitting, classroom assistant, helping family.

2021 - 2022

Au Pair in Dallas, Texas

4 kids (5,7,9,11)

My first host family holds a very special place in my heart. I cared for four girls, driving them to school and evening activities, doing homework together, and filling the in-between moments with crafts, baking, and playdates with our neighbors.

πŸ’› My favorite memory: Making hot chocolate stand, we learned to budget, sell, and how to greet customers. Everyone in the family joined in the fun.

2022 - 2023

Au Pair in New York City

3 kids (9,11,13)

For my extension year, I took care of very smart boys. We navigated subways and buses on tight schedules, keeping three very different personalities engaged and on time. On easier days, we played chess and built LEGOs. Also, we usually had dinner together.

πŸ’› Favorite memory: A long walk with my youngest host kid to the Lego Store, we chatted, made curious stops along the way, and turned an activity he didn't like (exercise) into a little adventure.

English Teacher in Mexico

150 students (6-12)

I had the great honor of volunteering as an English teacher at my grandparents’ charity school, teaching in a small town. As a first-time teacher, I discovered how much children can learn through art, games, and movement. I planned creative activities to encourage a curious mindset across the whole school community.

πŸ’› Favorite memory: When we took learning outside, using old blankets for picnic-style classes.

2025

Au Pair in China

2 kids (6,9)

Looking for a personal challenge, I moved to a country whose language and culture were completely new to me. My host family welcomed me with open arms and minds. I helped my host kids improve their English and stayed closely involved in their school life. Every day included homework, playtime, and dinner together, and I felt more like a big sister than a caretaker.

πŸ’› Favorite memory: We loved playing Minecraft, chatting about PokΓ©mon, and traveling to new places together.

I had a very wonderful and unique experience with my host families. I still keep in touch with all of them and even visited them again. 😊 You will be able to contact them as well for reference.

I find joy in bringing others together, whether that's planning a friend's dinner or simply going for a chatty walk. I grew up in a warm, entrepreneurial family that taught me to stay open-minded, keep learning, and approach life with positive energy and purpose. On my time off, you'll find me on a tennis court, designing for my Etsy shop, reading a good book, hanging out with friends, or watching Formula 1 on a Sunday. I'm easy-going and flexible by nature, but selective with my relationships and personal goals.
